Tour­ing film fes­ti­val

FILL up your pop­corn and get com­fort­able at Chin­chilla Cul­tural Cen­tre or Miles’ Le­ich­hardt Hall this week­end for the Queens­land Tour­ing Film Fes­ti­val.

A part of In The Bin Film Fes­ti­val, the tour­ing film fes­ti­val is Aus­tralia’s largest and old­est tour­ing short film pro­grams.

A free fam­ily event (all movies are rated PG), this year’s fes­ti­val will bring 10 of the best short films from around the world to Miles’ big screen from 6pm Fri­day night and Chin­chilla from 6pm Satur­day.

Warra Races

DRESS to im­press and head out of town for the 2017 An­nual Warra Races this Satur­day.

It’s set to be a day out for the whole fam­ily with kids bar­rel horse nov­elty races, fash­ions on the field and a li­censed bar.

Gates open at 11am and cost of en­try is $10.


SPEND an evening un­der the stars when the Townsville Astron­omy Group and Full Throt­tle The­atre in con­junc­tion with WDRC brings their pro­duc­tion, As­tro­nom­i­cal, to Chin­chilla tonight.

Meet Galileo, Ein­stein and Neil Arm­strong as they lead you though the his­tory of astron­omy.

The comedic jour­ney de­liv­ers belly laughs as it ex­plores the uni­verse and the au­di­ence ex­plore by look­ing at as­tro­nom­i­cal won­ders through large com­puter con­trolled tele­scopes.

The event is free and will be held at Clover Hill Ranch from 6.30pm.

Ladies Day

LADIES dust off your party dress be­cause the an­nual Con­damine Cods Ladies Day is back for 2017.

Cheer on the Cods as they take on the Goondi­windi Emus.

It prom­ises to be a fun day in the sun with beau­ti­ful stalls, de­li­cious food, amaz­ing raf­fle prizes, and plenty of cham­pagne.

Con­damine Cods Ladies Day kicks off at the Fish Tank at mid­day.

Snow Party

JUMP into your ski suit for the Com­mer­cial Ho­tel’s Snow Party this Satur­day night from 8pm. DJ Jase will be on the decks and drink spe­cials will be avail­able all night. There’s also a great cash prize up for grabs for best dressed.
