Sport­ing prodigy awarded

WOMEN’S Aussie rules prodigy Zim­mor­lei Far­quhar­son has achieved one of the high­est in­di­vid­ual ac­co­lades of her youth ca­reer after be­ing awarded the Troy Clarke Schol­ar­ship.

The schol­ar­ship is named after for­mer Brisbane Lion Troy Clarke and is given to a re­gional ju­nior foot­baller who dis­plays ded­i­ca­tion, pas­sion and re­spect for the sport. The schol­ar­ship was es­tab­lished in 2014 and Zim­mor­lei, who plays for the Dalby Swans, is the first fe­male re­cip­i­ent.

In 2017 Zim­mor­lei, 15, was named most valu­able player and player of the championships at the Un­der 16 Queensland State Academy Championships, and All-Aus­tralian at the Un­der 15 School Girls Na­tional Championships.

In 2016 she was named co-cap­tain of Queensland All-Na­tions at the Na­tional Di­ver­sity Championships.
