Time certainly flies when Rotarians are having fun

Chinchilla News - - LIFE | OUR COLUMNISTS -

ANOTHER week has come and gone and the year is marching on. I don’t know about you but I feel like it should only be June and not almost September. As they say: “Time flies when you are having fun”.

Certainly, it was an interesting meeting last week. A regular attendee to our meeting told us about his career and we certainly had lots of questions for him.

Last week was also the monthly markets, which I hear went very well. It is always good to see all your friendly faces. We love to see everyone who comes along to say hello and buy one of our famous burgers.

I hear that the markets will be moving soon but not sure where to as the proposed highway roadworks commence shortly.

Have you purchased tickets for our Rollabout Comedy Tour “Wander Beyond Blue Yonder” to be held on Thursday, August 24 yet? It is sure to be a great night of entertainment and Rotary will have a sausage sizzle and drinks for purchase. Proceeds from the night are to be shared between Beyond Blue and our Rotary Club. The doors open at 6pm and the show will start about 7pm, I believe. We hope that you can come along for what promises to be a very good show. You can view further information or purchase tickets online and at the door. Tickets for the show are priced at $25.

A little bird told me that the Probus Club is off to visit Mundubbera and surrounding areas early next month. Sounds like a very interesting trip. They plan to visit the Mill at Mundubbera, the R.M. Williams Display Centre at Eidsvold and a pecan farm. Sounds like it should be a very enjoyable trip.

Laugh of the Week:

Q: What do you call the king of vegetables?

A: Elvis Parsley. Enjoy the week ahead and we hope that you found our column of interest.

Take care.
