SAYING G’DAY TO USA
HARD work has paid off in the form of a trip of a lifetime for a Chinchilla local.
Gerard Belgrove of Ainsworth Motors has won a competition through New Holland Tractors, one which is jet-setting him to the other side of the world.
Mr Belgrove beat hundreds of people Australia-wide in the competition.
“The comp was in relation to precision agriculture sales, so GPSs in tractors. It was a matter of percentage of targets on GPS sales,” Mr Belgrove said.
“The competition ran from January to June, the targets I set were pretty high but achievable. The customers in the area have really supported me.
“There was 15 spots up for grabs and I got one of them.”
Mr Belgrove has won himself a nine-day trip to the United States, one that will incorporate both work and relaxation.
“It’s a planned study tour, so we’re going to Farm Progress which is a massive agricultural field day in Illinois.
“We are also going to the New Holland factory, which is in New Holland in Pennsylvania.
“We’ve also got a couple of days in New York doing touristy things, so that will be amazing.”
Mr Belgrove is looking forward to connecting with the powers that be within New Holland.
“It’s going to be really good to see the innovation in America, especially in the precision agriculture space. That will be unreal.

“I’ll get to see some of the New Holland hierarchy, who we rarely get to see in Australia.”
Surprisingly, it isn’t the first time Mr Belgrove has won an international trip.
“A couple of years ago I won a similar trip to New Zealand, but this is to America and I can’t wait,” he said.
Mr Belgrove departs for the US on Tuesday.
