Music rolls into town
IT’S full steam ahead for Queensland’s multiculturalism as the highly acclaimed Culture Train makes its way to Chinchilla.
The final performance for Cultural Train’s regional Queensland tour will take place on Saturday at Chinchilla Cultural Centre and will include a performance by Chinchilla Concert Band.
Culture Train is a collaboration of six musicians from all over the world – Spain, Bolivia, India, Africa, Nepal and Australia – who have been touring through regional Queensland during Queensland Multicultural Month, performing live in 13 different communities.
Leading this cast of multicultural musicians is Suzanne Thompson, an Aboriginal woman from the Kabi/Wakka, Iningai/Bidjera people of south-east and central western Queensland.
A celebration of Queensland and its cultural diversity, the tour is an opportunity for remote audiences to immerse themselves in a unique cultural and musical experience.
Cultural Train aims to bring people together and ignite the spark of cross-cultural collaboration and conversation.
The free performance is at the Chinchilla Cultural Centre at 6pm on Saturday.
