Mu­sic rolls into town

IT’S full steam ahead for Queens­land’s mul­ti­cul­tur­al­ism as the highly ac­claimed Cul­ture Train makes its way to Chin­chilla.

The fi­nal per­for­mance for Cul­tural Train’s re­gional Queens­land tour will take place on Satur­day at Chin­chilla Cul­tural Cen­tre and will in­clude a per­for­mance by Chin­chilla Con­cert Band.

Cul­ture Train is a col­lab­o­ra­tion of six mu­si­cians from all over the world – Spain, Bo­livia, In­dia, Africa, Nepal and Aus­tralia – who have been tour­ing through re­gional Queens­land dur­ing Queens­land Mul­ti­cul­tural Month, per­form­ing live in 13 dif­fer­ent com­mu­ni­ties.

Lead­ing this cast of mul­ti­cul­tural mu­si­cians is Suzanne Thomp­son, an Abo­rig­i­nal woman from the Kabi/Wakka, Iningai/Bid­jera peo­ple of south-east and cen­tral west­ern Queens­land.

A cel­e­bra­tion of Queens­land and its cul­tural di­ver­sity, the tour is an op­por­tu­nity for re­mote au­di­ences to im­merse them­selves in a unique cul­tural and mu­si­cal ex­pe­ri­ence.

Cul­tural Train aims to bring peo­ple to­gether and ig­nite the spark of cross-cul­tural col­lab­o­ra­tion and con­ver­sa­tion.

The free per­for­mance is at the Chin­chilla Cul­tural Cen­tre at 6pm on Satur­day.
