Hearty meals on Big Skies menu
NOTHING beats dinner cooked on a bed of hot coals under a night sky filled with stars, especially when a professional is doing the cooking.
Guests at the inaugural Big Skies Festival 2018 will be treated to dinner with a difference on May 3-4 in the grounds of the stunning Jimbour House.
Camp oven cuisine is famous for its hearty dishes and smoky flavour.
Michael Patch, who will be dishing up the Big Skies camp oven fare said the evenings were a great chance for people to take a seat under the stars.
“We have a really hearty menu across the two nights, which includes roast pork; roast beef and vegetables; beef stew; beef curry and rice and of course some delicious desserts.”
Seating is provided for camp oven guests, and bookings are essential.
Councillor Donna Ashurst said the chance to camp out at Jimbour Station was an opportunity not to be missed.
“It really is incredible out here on the grounds of Jimbour House, it’s one of the true historical mansions of the colonial days, and it draws people from all over the country to experience it,” she said.
Big Skies Festival offers camping at Jimbour Station for up to 10 nights.
