You can’t scrimp on the preparation work when it comes to race cars, especially not with a build of this calibre. Laki dispatched the South African shell to HT Racing and much custom fabrication commenced.

Extensive floor and rear bulkhead mods were made to suit the fully adjustable rear-end suspension links.
A bolt-in roll cage would have sufficed, but this custom weld-in version adds far more chassis stiffness.
The enlarged gearbox tunnel allows fitment of either a Borg WarnerT5 or a race-spec sequential ‘box.
The arch extensions were custom made to suit the 10.5-inch wide Image split-rims. Off-the-shelf items were too narrow.
Roll cage dominates the stripped-out interior.
Top-notch remote reservoir Proflex dampers installed.
ZF diff lives inside the properly-built Atlas axle.
Custom gauges now live inside the Mk2’s dash cluster.
Simple but effective alloy panel houses extra switches.
Oil tank now lives in boot to keep temperatures at bay...
