New paint re­quires new chrome, and the 1300E’s trade­mark satin black rear panel would have looked odd with­out new hockey sticks and boot trim.And then there’s all the win­dow trim, han­dles, wipers, glass, dash switches, light lenses, in­te­rior wood, bumpers — once you start per­fect­ing, it’s hard to know when to stop.The re­lent­less at­ten­tion to de­tail is what made Chris’s Es­cort one of the stars of our Great Un­veil­ing.
