Chat: Sociology graduate, Adam went all out with his Mercury Grey Mk1, having made good power from the 1700 Crossflow, he told us how his speedo just bounces about once you go over 100 mph — on the track, of course. With a Kent 244 cam, Stage 2 head and an RS1800 gearbox this really helps launch the car which is even lighter now with a stripped interior — fitted with the addition of a roll cage and harnesses. For Adam the Mk1 Fiesta was the perfect starter car, affordable to buy with plentiful parts for restoration and modification without breaking the bank on the insurance. Bought a couple of years back with no engine, interior or wheels, and a dented and rusty shell, it wasn’t a good state, but with the help of his Dad, Adam’s really turned this Mk1’s fortunes around.
Loving the chin spoiler. Nature started the paint degradation, Stephen and his mates just kept it going. Fiesta looks unloved, but is much cherished. Good-spec 1700 Crossflow inside. Recaros live in otherwise stripped interior. LIKE YOUR CAR
