Martyn Loughran From: UK Car: 1969 Mustang You can’t a father-and-son project. Just ask Martin: “I’ve recently bought a 1969 Mustang 5-litre v8 as a project for me and my son, Jack. He’s named it Project Pony, and it’s been part restored before it was shipped over from the US, so the first thing is to finish of some welding it needs and then it will get undersealed and sound dampened on the inside before interior is put back in — all with the help from Jack and my good friend, Dave Ramage.
“Future plans are to keep the old-school look but add some alloys and upgrade all the suspension and brakes to give it the modern feel. Also I’ve got an Edelbrock carb and chrome bits to fit to the engine along with various other upgrades.”
It looks sound, but Martyn reckons there’s a few welding jobs plus some planned mods to do before it can hit the road.
Interior is already sorted.
Car was recently imported from the US where it had a partial restoration.
Martyn’s son, Jack is helping out with the rebuild of Project Pony.
