When Ford needed a plant to build just 200 mid-engined four-wheel-drive RS200s they scouted around, could not find a suitable contractor, so rented a redundant, but empty, factory from Reliant, some miles from the Reliant factory, and unconnected with it.This was purely an assembly facility (chassis tubs, body shells, engines and transmissions all arrived from elsewhere), and assembly spanned Summer 1985 to January 1986, after which the site was cleared, handed back to Reliant, and was not used again by Ford.
