Classic Ford - - TOP TWENTY -

Although Cosworth never built complete cars for Ford, they produced tens of thousands of engines at factories in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. These were newly-erected plants, for before the 1980s Cosworth had never been a series production manufacturer. Originally they produced turbocharged 16-valveYB engines for Sierras and Escort RS Cosworths, then also added the capacity to build BOA 24-valve engines for the Scorpio of the 1990s, and later the last big batch of Cologne V6 pushrod units.
