From: New Zealand Car: Mk1 Capri “My Dad loves your mag and has been buying it for years,” says Ray’s son, Bradyn. “He’s owed Fords most of his life having served his apprenticeship at the local Ford garage in Gore in the mid ’60s. He’s had Zephyrs, Anglias, Cortinas, Flacons and a Mk1 pre-facelift 1972, XLR 1600GT Capri which he’s owned for as long as I’ve been around.”
“Over the last two years he’s totally restored it and finally got it on the road earlier this month. He’s done all the mechanical stuff himself and reconditioned everything, as well as fitting electronic ignition, while the bodywork and paint was done by a young guy here in Geraldine — it’s the original Silver Fox, and the only change he has made is to the satin black bonnet which he’s made German- style with the black running over the front wings and around the door frames and rear glass. He still has the Rostyle rims but currently prefers Minilites.”
Satin black added to the tops of the wings, too — German-style.
