8) SUPPLIES FOR THE S-SERIES
Even more so than Lotus, TVR excelled in taking other makers’ components and fusing them together to brilliant effect. Almost every TVR was little more than a collection of existing bits bolted to a bespoke frame and body. The S-Series line of the late 1980s and early 1990s was no exception. Aside from the Ford Cologne V6 drivetrain, it was sprinkled with other components. Much of the mechanical parts are Ford-sourced (the brake master cylinder is from the Fiesta, for instance) while the electrical parts and switches are usually Vauxhall – the heater fan switch is from a Chevette, available for under £20. Meanwhile the smoked front indicator lenses are from the BMW E30.
