NESTLED among native bushland, Hammond Park Catholic Primary School is celebrating its fifth year and is proud of its outstanding achievements in this short time.

A digitally enabled school, it embraces innovative approaches to teaching and learning such as the Catholic Education Office award-winning Bush Play program.

The program engages children from Kindergarten to Year 6 in weekly learning experiences that offer meaningful, open-ended interactions to occur between children and the natural world around them.

Bush Play learning experiences develop children’s inquiry, exploration and discovery through an authentic connection to nature.

It also fosters an appreciation of the natural environment, develops environmental awareness and provides a platform for ongoing environmental education.

A trained nature pedagogy teacher works with teachers and children to develop their skills, attitudes and understandings of conservation and sustainability.
