Footy chiefs join drop

FOUR West Aus­tralian Foot­ball League club chief ex­ec­u­tives will take the Cen­tral Park Plunge in Septem­ber, with one sign­ing up be­fore he knew it meant dan­gling off the 52nd floor of a build­ing.

West Perth Foot­ball Club’s David Crute, Perth Foot­ball Club’s Marty Atkins, South Fre­man­tle’s Tom Bot­trell and Su­bi­aco Foot­ball Club’s Peter Capes will ab­seil 220 me­tres down the side of the Cen­tral Park build­ing on St Ge­orges Ter­race to raise funds and aware­ness for prostate can­cer. They will join 296 oth­ers who will ab­seil from Septem­ber 8 to 10 and do­nate to one of four char­i­ties.

Prostate Can­cer Foundation WA state man­ager Na­dine Mag­ill said prostate can­cer was the most com­mon can­cer in Aus­tralia.

She said the ab­seil raised al­most $1 mil­lion in the last two years for WA char­i­ties.
