Bulldogs and Sharks both win
SUPPORTED BY LUX MOTORS SOUTH Fremantle tuned up for the WAFL finals with a convincing victory and East Fremantle dodged the wooden spoon with a big win at the weekend.
Mason Shaw booted four goals to guide the Bulldogs to a 34-point win over Peel at Rushton Park on Saturday.
The 18.12 (120) to 12.14 (86) result had no impact on the ladder though, with the top three positions locked in prior to round 23.
The second-placed Bulldogs will host the Thunder (third) this week at home in a qualifying final.
Cross-town rivals East Fremantle ensured they did not finish in last position after a 61-point win over finals-bound Swan Districts at Bassendean Oval. It was their third win for the season.
Matthew Watson and Ryan Ambrose kicked three goals each and Sean Hanson was busy with 32 disposals, as the Sharks finished the year with a 20.10 (130) to 10.9 (69) result.
The retiring Andrew Stephen gathered 17 disposals and kicked one goal.
