“Police, along with hundreds of volunteers are working hard to provide a safe and positive environment, but we want you to look after yourselves and your friends, be respectful and behave appropriately,” she said.

“I encourage parents to have a talk with their children and encourage them to stay safe and keep an eye on their friends.

“I also want to remind people to be safe on the roads.

“Don’t drink and drive, please slow down, drive to the conditions and don’t get distracted.”

Additional police will also be sent to Rottnest and the South-West before, during and after the official leavers period to maximise the safety and security of school leavers.
