City raises a stink

Cockburn Gazette - - NEWS - Belinda Cipriano

THE City of Cockburn has issued a warning after six separate deposits of human faeces were found in bushland in Aubin Grove this month.

Both human faeces and toilet paper were reported in six locations across the area by a local dog walker.

Environment manager Chris Beaton said anyone caught defecating in public in the City of Cockburn would be prosecuted.

Mr Beaton said they could face a fine and be charged by police.

He said the City knew of six sites where the incidents had occurred, with the dog walker reporting them to the City on May 16.

Mr Beaton urged people to notify the City should they see or found anything.

A post with a picture of the locations on the City’s Facebook page also called for witnesses.

“The unacceptable behaviour is a health risk and anyone witnessing this behaviour is urged to email the City,” it said.

Anyone with information should email customer@cockburn.wa.gov.au.
