Cockburn Gazette - - OPINION -

INSPIRED by local scenes, Fremantle resident Ron Hill will show off his acrylic work in the Alfred Cove Annual Awards Excellence Exhibition.

Mr Hill, who has been a member of the Alfred Cove Art Society for three years, said he had been an artist most of his life.

“I started painting when I was three and I have been doing it on and off my whole life,” he said.

“I was encouraged to do it during school but never seriously took it up until I retired, which was about 10 years ago.

“I started off as a water colourist

when I moved to Australia and then I got into acrylics.”

The former painter and decorator said he was excited about the exhibition.

“It’s a mixture of all sorts, with amateurs and professional artists, water colours, oils, pastels, all sorts,” he said.
