OPTION B: FACING ADVERSITY, BUILDING RESILIENCE, AND FINDING JOY

Collective Hub - - AT WORK -

by SHERYL SANDBERG AND ADAM GRANT

‘How are you, today?’ It’s a simple question but one which Sheryl Sandberg thinks, in light of suddenly losing her husband in 2015, could help us all. When many friends chose to say nothing at all, for fear of making her grief worse, the Lean In author found these four words said so much – including acknowledgement and care. In Option B, the Facebook COO recommends those who are grieving to never apologise for the way their grief hits, and for friends to ditch the burden-prone question, ‘Is there anything I can do?’, in favour of just going and doing something, anything, that might help.
