Three years ago, in the sink of their tiny Sydney apartment, Mitch Lindsay and Crystal Bailey began making ornamental pots out of an underrated material – concrete.

“We saw a need to bring large indoor plants into the home and there were no beautiful pots to accommodate this,” says Crystal.

Little did they know their creations would take off and kickstart a design trend – the “concrete revolution” as they call it – in the process.

“Following one day of selling pots at the markets, we started a website and continued selling like crazy. It’s just snowballed from there,” says Crystal. “We had to move three times in a year to accommodate how fast the business was growing.”

A musician originally from Tamworth, she and Mitch – a Byron Bay grocer – found an entirely new career path. Their concrete pots are now handpainted in their Sydney and Los Angeles workshops and shipped across the world.

Minimalistic furniture, accessories and kids décor are now also on offer.
