Comic Heroes - - Feature -

Urszula “Ula” Mos is the premier cover colourist for Zenescape Entertainment’s Grimm Fairy Tales comics, and has also worked extensively in the games industry. Ula Mos says: “I used warm (red, yellow) and cold (blue, pink, cool grey) colour palettes to create a contrast between the explosion in the background, and the superhero who barely avoided it. Additionally, cold colours in the foreground create the illusion of the character being in a shadow and closer to the viewer. The explosive fire is always quite a challenge. You need to find the balance between bright light and darker elements of line art, so they all create the illusion of something very hot and dazzling. I like adding details that emphasise mood, so I used cinder particles in the foreground.”
