The Graphic Novel Man: The Comics Of Bryan Talbot is a series of documentaries which explores the development of acclaimed writer/ artist Bryan Talbot. The documentaries trace not only his career, but explore how his deep knowledge of the craft of making comics has made him an international phenomenon at the epicentre of graphic novel innovation.

Talbot’s career includes his psychedelic underground comic Brainstorm!, The Adventures Of Luther Arkwright (arguably Britain’s first graphic novel) and freelancing for 2000 AD on strips such as Nemesis

The Warlock and Judge Dredd. For DC he’s worked on Batman, Sandman and Hellblazer. But he’s best

known for his own creations, such as The Tale Of One Bad Rat, Heart Of Empire, Alice In Sunderland, the Grandville series and the 2013 Costa Award-winning Dotter Of Her Father’s Eyes (cocreated with his wife Mary).

Featuring contributions from some of the world’s greatest comic creators – such as Neil Gaiman, Joe Sacco, Warren Ellis, Gilbert Shelton, Ian Rankin, David Lloyd, Pat Mills, John Wagner, Charlie Adlard, Carlos Ezquerra, D’Israeli, Doug Braithwaite and Andy Diggle – and leading critics and comic historians – including Paul Gravett, Kim Newman, Professor Henry Jenkins and Dr Mel Gibson – The Graphic Novel Man also boasts unprecedented access to previously unseen material.
