Empowered

Comic Heroes - - Comics We Rate - Kimberley Margaux

It’s so hard being a superhero sometimes! All that running before you’ve even had your morning coffee, and your costume ripping while you’re trying to fight... Empowered may be nearing ten years old but it’s as subversive and playful as ever. Superheroes are celebrities who drink too much, paperwork must be filled in after weapons or vehicles are deployed for battle, and Empowered is an everyday girl who always rips her suit in unfortunate places. It’s laugh-out-loud hilarious, and whip-smart.

The best thing in the series so far is glorious supervillain the Soldier Of Love. A prickly pink-haired antiheroine who brandishes a magic wand like a vape pen, she’s an evil Cupid who’s stolen our hearts.
