Award for direc­tor

THE City of Gos­nells’ direc­tor of in­fra­struc­ture has been recog­nised for out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tion to en­gi­neer­ing in pub­lic works ahead of his re­tire­ment.

Dave Har­ris was awarded the In­sti­tute of Pub­lic Works En­gi­neer­ing Aus­trala­sia’s (IPWEA) high­est hon­our, the Keith H Wood Medal, for ex­cep­tional ded­i­ca­tion to the en­gi­neer­ing in pub­lic works in­dus­try over a sig­nif­i­cant num­ber of years.

Mr Har­ris said it was a fit­ting way to end his ca­reer and it meant a lot to be recog­nised.

“I’ve been in­volved in the in­dus­try for over 22 years at ex­ec­u­tive level, both state and na­tional, so to be recog­nised at that level by my peers is great,” he said.
