THE stun­ning new up­per pri­mary cen­tre at John Wol­las­ton Angli­can Com­mu­nity School is near­ing com­ple­tion.

Ex­cited years 5 and 6 stu­dents will move into the new state of the art cen­tre in Term 4.

This fu­tur­is­tic up­grade will pro­vide new learn­ing spaces specif­i­cally de­signed for older pri­mary stu­dents.

Ar­chi­tect Steve Mueller said he was ex­cited about the cen­tre’s teach­ing and learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment, use of light and space and ex­panded views to the Perth foothills bring­ing stu­dents closer to na­ture.

“Pas­sive de­sign prin­ci­ples in­clud­ing so­lar­tubes were used, pro­vid­ing nat­u­ral light to the break­out and other ar­eas,” he said.
