Showing off their good qualities
CAMP Quality’s annual Outback motoring adventure is set to zoom off from Armadale this weekend.
From October 15 to 21, a fleet of more than 25 quirky themed vehicles will travel over 2000 kilometres from Armadale to the Goldfields and back to Northam for the 2017 wesCarpade.
The fleet takes off from Ye Ole Narrogin Inn/Heritage Motel in Armadale on Sunday, with the cars at the start line by 8.15am for a 8.30am take-off.
Each team behind every decorated car dedicates much of the year to accruing sponsorship for their adventure, funds that will directly support Camp Quality and kids affected by cancer.
Camp Quality state manager Steve Archibald said the event would not be possible without the support of local businesses.
“It’s this kind of generosity that ensures funds raised go directly to supporting families in Western Australia to not only cope, but thrive,” he said.
Local businessman Troy ‘Tiny’ Duncan is looking forward to his sixth wesCarpade with his ‘T-Rex’ car. “I love it every year,” he said. “On my first event, I saw the direct impact it made to the kids at one of the camps in Busselton.
“After that experience, I just couldn’t sit back and do nothing at all, and I’ve continued supporting as much as possible ever since.”
