L J HOOKER FOUNDATION RAISES $7M FOR CHARITY
LJ HOOKER Australia has recorded a collective $7 million in community donations through its eponymous charitable foundation.
The milestone figure came just ahead of LJ Hooker Foundation Day on September 20, the 89th anniversary of the iconic real estate brand.
Launched a year ago, the LJ Hooker Foundation now consolidates the grassroots fundraising activities of its network for major donations to charity partners Cystic Fibrosis Australia and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
Over the past year alone, $571,927 has been raised for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis Australia, with funds used to buy children’s medical equipment including a Carilex Coziny mattress for King Edward memorial Hospital and CFA’s Consumer Connect, a world-first online community established to bring together Australians affected by cystic fibrosis.
LJ Hooker Foundation spokesperson Heather Hilton said the foundation had helped local offices engage with their community and make a difference to the lives of children and cystic fibrosis sufferers.
“On any give weekend, LJ Hooker teams around the country are fundraising for our charity partners or local causes to make a tangible difference in the communities in which they live and work,” she said.
“LJ Hooker Foundation allows us to formally receipt and facilities these donations, ensuring every dollar raised is accounted for and has a charitable purpose.”
