KEEP SCREEN DOORS LOCKED

Comment News (Armadale) - - Street Watch -

I'm no climatologist, nor do I have any statistical evidence to back me up, but in my opinion the recent winter measured 'extreme' on the miserable scale. Now that there's the slightest hint of warmer weather, I like letting a little sunshine and warm breeze come in through my front flyscreen door. Unfortunately crooks see an unlocked flyscreen door or open window as an opportunity to sneak in and steal your stuff, even when you're at home. Police always see an increase in this type of opportunistic theft, where crooks get into homes and units through unlocked doors and windows, in the warmer months. You can take simple measures, such as ensuring your front screendoor is always locked, even when you're home, to significantly reduce your chance of being a victim of this type of crime. – Sergeant Nathan Trenberth
