About 10.50pm on October 21, police received a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on Virginia Avenue. The offenders left the scene in a black Holden Adventra. The vehicle was located and officers tried to stop it, but the driver failed to stop. A short time later the vehicle was sighted by another police unit, and the Police Air Wing was called in. The car was monitored by the police helicopter crew and a stinger device was deployed on Hale Road in Wattle Grove, deflating two tyres. The vehicle was abandoned near the intersection of Tonkin Highway and Welshpool Road and three occupants of the vehicle fled. One of the occupants, a 27-year-old man from Forrestfield, was taken into custody after he tried to hide in a tree and received a bite wound from a police dog. A 19-year-old man from Armadale was taken into custody in the rear yard of a property on Welshpool Road East, while a 19- year-old man from Port Kennedy was arrested a day later on Welshpool Road, Kelmscott.
