New cit­i­zens swell the ranks

THE City of Ar­madale con­tin­ues to be one of WA’s fastest grow­ing ar­eas, reach­ing a pop­u­la­tion of 90,000 on Fri­day, Jan­uary 20. It be­came 91,029 when Ar­madale wel­comed Aus­tralia’s new­est cit­i­zens in a cer­e­mony in Memo­rial Park on Jan­uary 26.

Ar­madale Mayor Henry Zelones, who con­ducted the pro­ceed­ings, said was a par­tic­u­larly mo­men­tous oc­ca­sion for those choos­ing to be­come Aus­tralian cit­i­zens by pledg­ing their com­mit­ment to em­brace the re­spon­si­bil­i­ties and priv­iledges of Aus­tralian cit­i­zen­ship.

“Aus­tralia Day is a spe­cial day for all our com­mu­nity to come to­gether and cel­e­brate what we love about the coun­try we call home,” he said.
