Free open day at park

COM­MU­NITY mem­bers will have a chance to check out the Mills Park re­de­vel­op­ment in Beck­en­ham first-hand at a free open day on Sat­ur­day from 11am to 2pm.

There will be free en­ter­tain­ment, rides, a skate clinic, a treasure hunt, na­ture play fun, ‘Have-a-go’ events by lo­cal sports groups, se­niors’ ac­tiv­i­ties, com­mu­nity group demon­stra­tions and craft ac­tiv­i­ties.

Peo­ple will have the chance to tour the fa­cil­ity to check out the walk­ing paths, en­vi­ron­men­tal fea­tures and wet­land ar­eas.

The $47 mil­lion re­gional fa­cil­ity fea­tures a 6-Star Green Star-awarded com­mu­nity cen­tre, na­ture play space, skate plaza, WA’s first syn­thetic soc­cer pitches, ten­nis courts and two ovals with kiosks and change rooms, cricket nets, bar­be­cues, shade shel­ters, seat­ing and path net­work.
