NO LOVE LOST FOR LABOR
A GOOD percentage of the electorate is well aware of all the promises made by the Labor Party on schools, rail links to Morley and resolving level crossing choke points.
All of these require costings put before the Treasury.
We know that in the last weeks of the Federal Election the Labor Party mounted a huge scare campaign on Medicare aimed at older citizens to deter them from voting Liberal. The extension of the Thornlie line could have been done under the previous Labor State Government, but no. This is now a live issue and whoever wins power should proceed with project.
The Gateway project for the Tonkin has been a great Liberal success and removed congestion, sped up travel times and saved freight companies thousands of dollars.
Therefore the Roe extension to Fremantle and upgrades in the Port's infrastructure should proceed and will help Perth grow. The dinosaurs of the Maritime Workers Union must see this.
You have only to look at the destruction of London Docks in the 1960s due to union leader Jack Dash and strikes.
