$10,000 UP FOR GRABS
ARTISTS are being encouraged to get creative and submit entries into the annual City of Gosnells Community Art Exhibition and Awards, with more than $10,000 in prize money.
The event gives emerging and professional artists an opportunity to showcase their talents in a range of mediums.
City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle said this was a great opportunity for artists to be recognised, win cash or have their artwork selected as the overall winning entry, which would be acquired for the City’s collection. The judging will be held on May 4, followed by a community exhibition from May 5-12.
This year’s award and exhibition will feature the new craft categories of Woodturning, Mosaics and Pottery and a Craft Trail to be displayed across several locations, including The Agonis (Gosnells), Amherst Village Library (Canning Vale), Mills Park Centre (Beckenham) and the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre (Thornlie).
The 2017 Community Art and Exhibition Awards also include an Overall Award (Acquisitive), which offers a $5000 cash prize.
Winners will be announced on Saturday, May 6.
