Not a good week­end for Ar­madale

AR­MADALE had a tough week­end with only one team hav­ing any suc­cess.

1st grade were chas­ing Thorn­lie’s 276 and got off to a bright start thanks to Ry­lan Arms (36) and An­ton Bick­ley (23) as they reached 1-59. Jake Forsyth then made a well com­piled 36 as the game was well bal­anced at 3-114.

Yet Ar­madale col­lapsed and de­spite Will Hunt mak­ing a solid 28, no one else stood up as Ar­madale were dis­missed for 169.

In the sec­ond in­nings Thorn­lie made 3-108 as Mark Rice snared 2-6 off 5 tight overs.

Win next game and Ar­madale will make fi­nals.

3rd grade had a game to for­get af­ter mak­ing 31 last week.

Kardinya made a blaz­ing 4369 be­fore declar­ing.

Micky Julien was the pick of the bowlers with 1-23.

In the sec­ond dig, Ar­madale started brightly as Alex Tatarynow­icz (23) and Dan Sawyer (18) bat­ted well at the top as they reached 0-42.

There­after it was all down­hill and Ar­madale were rolled for 72.

One Day A’s played Can­ning­ton who won the toss and bowled. It proved to be a mas­ter­stroke as Ar­madale crum­bled to be 3-5.

Oswin D’Sylva chipped in with a handy 28, but Ar­madale fell to 7-73.

Skip­per Rae­bern D’Sylva then made a fight­ing 35no to en­able a score of 123.

In re­ply Ar­madale came out fir­ing as Can­ning­ton were re­duced to 6-56.

They re­grouped how­ever and ended up with a score of 8161.

Ask Star­ling led the way with 3-22, while Paul James (210 off 8) and Kim Hunt (2-13 off 8) were su­perb.

One Day C’s have gone down to East Fremantle to end their fi­nals run.

East Freo bat­ted first and were rolled for 119.

Hay­don Wil­son was su­perb with the ball to snare 4-17, while Brett Mauer took a sneaky 2-11.

In re­ply Ar­madale never got go­ing and were 6-34 at one stage.

They chipped away and came close, mak­ing 99 thanks to Brett Mauer who made 18.

One Day E’s have had a good win against Hil­ton who bat­ted first.

Brian Davey (2-26) and Rhett Jones (2-26) bowled well early as Hil­ton were re­duced to 6-104, but re­cov­ered to post a com­pet­i­tive 7-172.

Early wick­ets saw Ar­madale on the back foot be­fore Gene Aldridge took con­trol.

He made a su­perb 83, as Ar­madale reached a ner­vous 5152, be­fore Dave Arm­strong (46no) and Peter Smith (32) put the fin­ish­ing touches on to see Ar­madale home at 8-258.

One Day F’s fell to Madding­ton in a great game of cricket.

Madding­ton bat­ted first and made 6-177, with Cam Gibb lead­ing the way with the ball, snar­ing 4-32.

Cheyenne Ca­vanagh (50) and Rob Goscombe (41) bat­ted well in re­ply, be­fore Cam Gibb chipped in with 22no, but the run rate was too much as Ar­madale fin­ished on 4-157.
