Gos­nells re­cruit Reece re­warded

CRICKET GOS­NELLS Cricket Club’s English im­port Luis Reece capped a stel­lar sea­son by fin­ish­ing fourth in WA Premier Cricket’s Olly Cooley Medal count.

The medal count for the best player in first­grade WA Premier Cricket was held at the WACA Ground, voted by the um­pires on a 3-2-1 ba­sis per each reg­u­lar sea­son game.

Reece finished on 12 votes, five votes be­hind the win­ner, Clare­mont-Ned­lands’ Tim David.

The Lan­cashire all-rounder was named in the Western Aus­tralian District Cricket Com­pe­ti­tion Team of the Year after scor­ing 362 runs and tak­ing 31 wick­ets in first-grade.

He also won the John Marsh Me­mo­rial Tro­phy for Se­nior Crick­eter of the Year at Gos­nells’ awards night.

Reece took home the club’s bowl­ing award and was joint win­ner of the Hawk Medal on 20 votes, along­side Matthew Leipold.

Leipold also won the club’s One-Day Crick­eter of the Year and bat­ting award.

Jakob Hors­man was Un­der-19 Crick­eter of the Year, Ryan James-Buck­ley Fielder of the Year.
