New ambulance bought
THE Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation exceeded its fundraising target in last year’s Christmas Lights campaign. Originally hoping to raise $87,000 to help buy a Newborn Emergency Transport Ambulance, the foundation instead raised $90,745. Thanks to the Christmas Lights campaign – supported by Community Newspaper Group – and contributions from a number of other donors, the foundation was able to purchase the $180,000 ambulance. It will be used to transfer about 900 tiny newborns to hospital for intensive care each year. Marie Vranjes was the highest fundraiser with a total of $12,084. The year’s highest street fundraisers were Jaden Warner and Clayton Reimers from Lyon Road in Aubin Grove, who raised $10,806.
