A $500,000 upgrade to the Richardson Street Bridge, which links Mundijong and Serpentine, will begin soon.

The timber structure will be replaced with steel to increase the bridge’s lifespan and maintain the weight loading of the bridge so it can continue to be used by a range of vehicles.

Main Roads and the Federal Government will fund the upgrade.

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale funded roadworks on a section of Gossage Road in Oldbury between Kargotich Road and the Gossage Road Bridge, which started this month and are due to finish in July.

“These works are important to our road network in the Shire and we remind people to be patient and leave extra journey time when travelling,” Shire President John Erren said.
