Canning Vale in top form
CANNING Vale College (CVC) is celebrating two momentous volleyball titles, including the school’s first A Grade title in any sport.
CVC’s girls’ team roared to the A Grade title in emphatic fashion, winning the trophy without dropping a set all tournament, despite facing schools with specialist programs such as Perth Modern and Mandurah Baptist.
Meanwhile, the boys’ team performed admirably in what was the first tournament for many of their side and were triumphant in the C Grade competition.
Coach Terrence Kuppusamy said it was a pleasure to coach both sides and the players deserved most of the credit.
“Praise must go to the students, they worked hard for it,” he said.
“The students are so keen, it's worth giving up my time to help them achieve what they can.”
He said the girls’ surprising win was much-deserved after last year’s heartbreak, in which they lost the grand finals by one point.
