SOUTHERN Districts Netball Association enjoyed a strong weekend at Netball WA’s Association Championships.
The association sent 14 teams to the championships, the third most of any district, and five of those sides made their respective grand finals.
Their Open Division 5, U/17 Division 2, U14 Division 3, U/12 Division 1 and No Limits Netball side for intellectually disabled players all performed valiantly, but unfortunately, all five teams lost their grand finals.
In addition, Southern Districts also had four sides who finished third in the form of their U/12 Division 5, U/12 Division 3, U/13 Division 2 and U/15 Division 3 teams.
Southern Districts development officer Bev Gallagher picked the No Limits Netball side’s performances as the highlight of the weekend.
“The Red Devils went through the day undefeated till we met the Fremantle Jaffas in the grand final in front of a big crowd on the main court at the State Netball Centre,” she said.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t get the win, but a great time was had by all.”
She said Southern Districts will keep the No Limits Red Devils running with Thursday night training and more competitions coming up in July and encouraged anyone interested in joining to contact the club.
