More than 4,000 native plants will help improve bushland at Tom Bateman Reserve in Thornlie when a community planting day is held on This regionally significant bushland needs our help to flourish and, as part of a partnership between the City and Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, this event will provide long-term benefits for the local environment. The trees, shrubs and ground covers to be planted will help provide food and habitat for wildlife and improve soil stability and biodiversity. Planting at Tom Bateman Reserve also builds on several years of environmental works, including revegetation, weeding, fencing and rubbish removal. Bring the family and get involved between 9am and noon and don’t forget to wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear, as planting will happen regardless of rain. Please also bring a hat, sunscreen, gloves and water bottle. For more information, call 9397 3000 or email pdames@gosnells.wa.gov.au.
