Elder to share sto­ries of life, cul­ture of Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple

FOR those want­ing to learn about the cul­ture and life of Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple, look no fur­ther than the City of Gos­nells.

Abo­rig­i­nal elder Liz Hayden will host four sto­ry­telling ses­sions through­out the city dur­ing Naidoc Week.

Mrs Hayden said she would draw on ex­pe­ri­ences and tales from her life at the events.

“I’ll be telling sto­ries about my life, how I was, where I grew up, where I was born, my unique birth­place, my fam­ily and my peo­ple,” Mrs Hayden said.

Mrs Hayden will speak from 12pm at Amherst Vil­lage Li­brary on Tues­day July 4, Gos­nells Knowl­edge Cen­tre on Wed­nes­day July 5, Ken­wick Li­brary on Thurs­day July 6 and from 10-11am at Thorn­lie Li­brary on Fri­day July 7.
