Non-profit or­gan­i­sa­tions given on­line boost

THE Shire of Ser­pen­tine Jarrahdale and City of Ar­madale helped lo­cal non-profit or­gan­i­sa­tions find their feet in the on­line world at a so­cial me­dia work­shop last month.

More than 50 peo­ple at­tended the pre­sen­ta­tion by Hancock Cre­ative, rep­re­sent­ing 40 dif­fer­ent com­mu­nity and sport­ing clubs.

At­ten­dees were pro­vided with tips on how to en­gage and grow their mem­ber­ship base, as well as ad­vice on which so­cial me­dia plat­forms would best suit their group’s tar­get mar­ket.

Shire Pres­i­dent John Er­ren said the event was suc­cess­ful and it was im­por­tant sim­i­lar work­shops were held to ed­u­cate com­mu­nity groups about con­nect­ing to an on­line au­di­ence.
