Fake traffic emails

Comment News (Gosnells) - - News -

WA SCAMNET is warning locals to watch out for fake traffic infringement emails. The State Government’s Consumer Protection body says people have been receiving emails with a variety of subject lines including “RE: Dear driver” and “Please read your notice”. The email claims to contain information on a traffic infringement, with an infringement number, date of violation and amount due. ScamNet advises that only WA Police may issue traffic infringements. Check on the WA Police website at police.wa.gov.au or call police on 9374 4555.
