GOSNELLS Business Station has won a multimillion dollar government tender to help small businesses increase their digital presence.

The Station was awarded a $5.68 million tender to roll out a program to help small businesses across WA, the Northern Territory and Queensland build their digital capabilities.

Business Station chief executive Kim Charles said the tender was a massive boost for the region.

“For Gosnells, I’m really pleased; we previously haven’t had Australian Small Business Advisory Services funding in the southeast corridor, so this is great,” she said.

Ms Charles said the program would aim to “take the fear out” of the challenges small businesses faced when building their online presence.

“The program is about websites, selling online, social media, digital marketing, using small business software, cloud platforms and online security and data privacy,” Ms Charles said.

“We know small businesses really need help in these areas and it’s good to be able to provide that with a good amount of funding, to be able to put together the right advisers, staff and people who are actually passionate about it.”

Ms Charles said they would break things down into simple steps to help clients harness their “digital potential” and despite the digital element would create a personal relationship with their clients.

“It's not as hard as they think it is and we can take them step-bystep... using online solutions and programs,” she said.

“There are so many different apps, a lot of opinions and we want to keep it pretty simple, keep encouraging businesses to see it as a 1-5 step process. It’s really important our advisors have an element of trust. It’s online, yes, but we want to make it as interactive as possible.”
