Early concepts that didn’t make it to realisation

We tried a lot of variations of photography within the logo’s shape. This one has a distorting effect, which is interesting as we are talking about history, which can be distorted. However, it is unclear and difficult to use.

The first drafts of the typefaces had some quirky details that we toned down, mostly for legibility reasons. We do kind of miss some of them, especially the crazy centre bar of the F. Anyway, these didn’t make it.

This logo was made when we had the typography locked and realised that we might actually need a logo with a distinctive form. It ran into problems when we translated the words into other languages.
