HIGHLY COM­MENDED: PUB­LISH­ING by Stu­dio Sutherl& http://stu­dio-suther­land.co.uk Stu­dio Sutherl&’s brand­ing scheme for the much-loved mur­der mys­tery brand Agatha Christie Limited started with a sim­ple mono­gram logo, even­tu­ally ex­pand­ing into a charm­ing, ver­sa­tile se­ries of icons to present the iconic char­ac­ters cre­ated by the au­thor.

Cre­at­ing the ‘a’ of Agatha by com­bin­ing ‘c’ for Christie with a mys­tery-evok­ing ‘?’, the mono­gram sets the tone for the punc­tu­a­tion mark-led brand­ing scheme. Poirot is con­veyed sim­ply us­ing his trade­mark mous­tache, for in­stance; Miss Marple is recog­nis­able by her hair and eyes alone.

These char­ac­ter icons are used on busi­ness cards and bound into mini books. Other branded prod­ucts in­clude book­marks, tote bags, play­ing cards, pen­cils and fold-out posters.
