Arturia’s arps from the Prophet-V

12:56 Ben and Jon’s latent trance influence becomes apparent with the addition of an arpeggiated riff that helps keep the track chugging along. “We usually have an arp running all the way through the track; something a little bit melodic, but it works as a groove element,” Jon says. “It was from the Arturia Prophet-V – I haven’t got the foggiest what the patch was as it was bounced down to save space on the computer afterwards. We added a ValhallaRoom to it to create a build, so you don’t need so many effects or things like that, it just builds itself.”

To create this build, the pair automate ValhallaRoom’s Mix parameter, increasing the amount of wet signal then dropping it right back down at the end of a section to add impact to the introduction of the next part of the track. “It just gives space to the track; it makes things sound a lot bigger,” Ben explains.
