Tone2 FireBird 2

Computer Music - - News -

Though they’ve been given some stick for a tendency towards hyperbole, Tone2 have always been innovative and experimental – sometimes to a fault, as in the case of FireBird 2, a cool and shamelessly digital synthesiser that makes use of Tone2’s HCM (Harmonic Content Morphing) oscillators to provide a deep, moving and utterly engaging sound. It was a weird and wonderful instrument, but it never quite achieved the popularity it deserved. Eventually Tone2 would discontinue – but not drop – FireBird 2, instead releasing it for free to any and all who might still be rocking a 32-bit Windows host. Still well worth a testflight!
